Carbon utilization technologies are on the cusp of reaching technological maturity, making them increasingly viable for large scale deployment. One of the main challenges to wider adoption lies in the cost and availability of green hydrogen. While the high price may be cost prohibitive for some materials, high-value niche chemicals, building materials, and sustainable aviation fuel offer another route of making carbon utilization more economically viable. As we aim for decarbonization, these techno-economic advances will play an important role in reducing emissions and building a more sustainable future.
