The turnaround cannot be avoided, however it’s important to carry out the maintenance work safely, correctly, cost effectively and consider risks. Maintenance also needs to be carried out which is not detrimental to reliability and availability. There are three ways which the availability and economics of a facility can be enhanced through the introduction of a robust strategy to reduce turnaround:

  • Frequency
  • Workscope
  • Duration

Aligning the facility turnaround strategy with the overall business plan and focusing on profitability will optimize resources and minimize risks.
