Advanced Process Control, specifically model based multivariable control, has been applied to air separation units (ASU’s) since the technology was introduced to the market in the mid 80’s. ASU’s have presented many challenges to traditional APC. A new generation of control technology was released in 2015 between Shell and Yokogawa called Platform for Advanced Control and Estimation (PACE) that helps effectively deal with many of these challenges.
In this webinar we will:
- Explore the challenges air separation units have presented to traditional APC
- Describe the features of PACE that are used to overcome the challenges
- Show how to drive more benefits from each application
