Main aspects of the job

Support new energy Co-Pilot apps and analytics development.
Undertake Consulting in Profit Improvement, Strategic Energy Analysis and Project Development, Providing Co-Pilot remote support to customer energy management

Main roles and responsibilities 

Project related

  • Manages small project teams of 1 to 2 consultants
  • Supervision of team for medium sized projects (~£ 50k)
  • Sets/updates project targets reflecting contractual commitments
  • Sets project plan, defines resourcing requirements and individual team members' roles and responsibilities
  • Prepares project control information for internal KBC reporting
  • Reviews progress/plans with local Partner
  • Lead energy specialist on projects
  • Lead data collection and analysis
  • Prepare and review mass and energy balances for processes and site in  terms fuel, steam, power and cooling
  • Execute/review process calculations
  • Simulation modeling and calibration
  • Flowsheet development
  • Carry out  Best Technology Benchmarking and GAP analysis
  • Review PFD and comparison with Best Technology
  • Develop and review Process and Site Pinch analysis
  • Develop and review Utility System Models
  • Identification and analysis of process improvement opportunities
  • Carry out mechanical walkthrough
  • Develop Roadmap and Strategic Investment Plans
  • Opportunity/project implementation supervision.
  • Develop models for Utility Optimizers, Fouling Monitoring, Water Management and Hydrogen Management.
  • Review real time model performance and energy performance data and make recommendations to improve the operation, maintenance or planning of energy related systems

Development

  • Define end user requirements for new energy Co-Pilot apps
  • Support testing and use of energy analytics tools
  • Work on Innovations tasks as set through respective Communities of Practice

Client relationship management

  • Client liaison/discussion of operations for larger aspects of work
  • Responsible for/contribution to the preparation of reports for clients
  • Client presentations
    Real time liaison via Co-Pilot client portal

Sales and marketing support

  • Assistance in proposal technical preparation
  • Assists with client sales visits
  • Participate in developing sales awards in excess of £200K/yr
  • Identify/communicate realistic follow-on sales opportunities
  • Close-out summaries completed for all executed projects
  • Individual client responsibility within business development process

Position requirements

  • 2 to 5 years’ or 5 to 8 years’ experience in Energy or Chemicals Operations
  • Corporate Member of Engineering Institute (or in process of obtaining)
  • Sales and Marketing Assignment (ideal but not essential)
  • Extended periods on site as part of project team or operations support
