Solution
KBC structured the overall program and governance, supported the
implementation of system infrastructure, defined and delivered initial
applications, and supported training and self-serve efforts.
To date, KBC has implemented:
- Overall infrastructure and business focused models to provide context for users and applications
- Visualization and analytics associated with advanced grid
technologies (AMI meters, Fault Indicators, Power Quality Management)
and system health devices (Network Protection)
- Monitoring of the power distribution system including overall
feeder monitoring and analytics to improve system reliability and
performance
- Monitoring of the power generation fleet including unit and
ground water monitoring to improve reliability and economic performance
Embedded as a partner to the client, KBC has provided overall program
management, established infrastructure and a governance process, and
leads multiple user’s groups within the utility. KBCs work has included
the definition of the business case for new applications, definition,
delivery, and turn over. These initiatives were delivered using an
iterative process to ensure end user engagement. These applications have
delivered value in reducing the time required to gather information and
provide improved information and analytics across the organization. A
key element of the overall delivery is working closely with end users to
support the adoption of new applications and technologies.
