About Yee Sun

I joined KBC in November 2005 and have been fortunate to work collaboratively with many experienced peers and seniors from different areas of expertise, which has helped me accumulate extensive involvement in the areas of asset wide flowsheeting, unit modeling, process/ energy optimization.

I am passionate about helping clients solve their problems based on their needs by utilizing a vareity of KBC tools and methodology. I enjoy trying out innovative solutions, and hence, innovative experience has been gained in Petrochemicals, e.g., development of full Ethylene complex flowsheet for a Profit Improvement Program, Refinery-Petrochemical Integration complex for a configuration study, and Olefin Conversion Unit, etc. I've also had the opportunity to tune and match client ethylene performance with effluent and plant production utilizing different licensor furnace technologies. Such broad experience has trained me to be familiar with the distribution of different molecule range within the ethylene, aromatics, chemicals, gas and refining complexes.

I have 17 years of refining, petrochemicals and gas experience in consulting services, and 2 years of R&D experience as a post-doctoral fellow. I hold a 1st Class BEng (Hons) in Chemical Engineering and PhD from The University of Birmingham (UK) in the research area of fluidization and DEM (Discrete Element Method) modeling for BP fluidization and filtration technologies. Following graduation, I worked as a post-doctoral fellow for Singapore MIT Alliance for collaborative research with MIT and Princeton University in the USA.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially travelling together with them for experiencing new culture and gourmet food.
