Main aspects of the job:

  • Guide a team that is charged with a product line contribution as a business unit 
  • Responsible for the revenue and profit growth of the existing product line to developing new products for the company 
  • Main link between the customer and R&D and will own the vision for the product including the direction of future development and promotional and support materials
  • Build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects 
  • Invest time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market 
  • Communicate with all areas of the company 
  • Liaise with R&D to define/approve product release requirements 
  • Collaborate with Marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer 
  • Work with Sales to help them understand product positioning, user personas and use case examples 
  • Serve as the internal and external advocate for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers

Main roles and responsibilities:

Product management

  • Manage the entire product line life-cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities 
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers 
  • Drive a solution set across development teams to ensure software requirements are met, customer needs are fulfilled and high quality is maintained 
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of product five-year vision, to include; product strategy, product requirements and use cases 
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of marketing, support and training materials
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute

Sales and marketing support

  • Assist with key/strategic client sales visits to demonstrate technology features
  • Select and participate in key industry events as the representative for the product
  • Play a key role in relevant mergers and acquisitions
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product
  • Assist in the management of multiple sales channels including agents, partners, joint ventures and alliances ensuring they have the information needed

KBC company business

  • Build/maintain awareness of KBC's other product lines
  • Actively support company Knowledge Management
  • Represent the Company at industry conferences and present papers
  • Play a key role in KBC innovation forums
  • Be an active member in relevant industry forums

Position requirements:

  • Previous product management experience 
  • Experienced product user, familiar with competitive products a bonus
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Knowledgeable in hydrocarbon industry and technology 
  • Familiar with at least Upstream, Refining and Petrochemical Design or Operations. 
  • Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality 
  • Good communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in team environment without supervision and willingness to assist others
  • Be cost conscious and aware of personal contribution to company profitability
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative
