Main Aspects of Job:

  • Guide a team that is charged with a product line contribution as a business unit
  • Responsible for the revenue and profit growth of the existing product line to developing new products for the company
  • Main link between the customer and R&D and will own the vision for the product including the direction of future development and promotional and support materials
  • Build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects
  • Possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality
  • Enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market
  • Able to communicate with all areas of the company
  • Collaborate with R&D to define/approve product release requirements
  • Cooperate with Marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer
  • Liaise with Sales to help them understand product positioning, user personas and use case examples
  • Serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire product line life-cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers
  • Drive a solution set across development teams to ensure software requirements are met, customer needs are fulfilled and high quality is maintained
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of product 5 year vision, to include; product strategy, product requirements and use cases
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of marketing, support and training materials
  • Develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute
  • Assists with key/strategic client sales visits to demonstrate technology features
  • Selects and participates in key industry events as the representative for the product
  • Plays a key role in relevant mergers and acquisitions
  • Analyses potential partner relationships for the product
  • Assist in the management of multiple sales channels including agents, partners, joint ventures and alliances ensuring they have the information needed
  • Builds / maintains awareness of KBC's other product lines
  • Actively supports company Knowledge Management
  • Represents Company at industry conferences, present papers
  • Plays a key role in KBC innovation forums
  • Active member in relevant industry forums

Position Requirements:

  • Previous product management experience
  • Experienced product user, familiarity with competitive products a bonus
  • Relevant industry experience
  • Knowledgeable in hydrocarbon industry and technology
  • Familiarity with at least one of Upstream, Refining and Petrochemical Design and Operations
  • Focus on internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Demonstration of high quality of technical ability / competence / productivity
  • Product Awards, Revenue, Margin and Growth
  • Ability to manage, mentor and motivate people
  • Completion of work on schedule, within budget and achievement of planned margins
  • Development and maintenance of good relationships with clients
  • Develops and maintains awareness of KBC Portfolio
  • Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in team environment without supervision and willingness to assist others
