Main Aspects of Job:

This is a wide-ranging global role with responsibilities to manage and support accounting, tax and treasury related matters with the primary responsibility for the integrity of the financial data for the KBC Argentina region and ensuring its completeness and accuracy for monthly reporting.

We are looking for an experienced Supervisor who is well practiced in supporting a global company in ensuring process and controls are continuously followed and improved on, with a solid understanding of local taxes and compliance matters.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Month-end, Audit and Internal Control

  • Review and take ownership of the monthly P&L and Balance Sheet by reviewing transactions and ensuring compliance with Group policies and local accounting rules
  • Perform month-end reconciliations including travel expenses, employee balances and currency balances
  • Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to the Group
  • Prepare and assist with intercompany invoicing and intercompany reconciliations on monthly basis
  • Manage the relationship with auditors and ensure reporting and audits are submitted on time.
  • Maintain and create where necessary formal documentation of procedures and processes and ensure compliance with Group processes

  • Taxation

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local tax advisors and tax auditors.
  • Prepare financial information for tax advisors for tax submissions to be performed on time
  • Provide strategic input related to tax matters which may impact decision making within the wider KBC group

  • Other responsibilities

  • Responsible for one direct report. Supervise and provide necessary guidance on local accounting related matters
  • Direct contact for local advisors including the bank, statutory auditors and tax advisors
  • Review and approve payment requests
  • Expense control and authorisation
  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and provide to UK Head Office as necessary
  • Respond to requests from government agencies
  • Assist in providing analysis and input in the annual budget process
  • Other duties as delegated by Group Financial Controller

  • Position Requirements:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish speaker)
  • Experience of local tax and accounting matters
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent
  • Advanced Excel skills desirable
  • Detail-oriented and ability to deliver to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to explain local matters to the Group team based in the UK
  • Pro-active approach and ability to work and think independently
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative
  • Display a high level of professionalism towards colleagues and to act as an ambassador of the Company.
