Main Aspects of Job:

Enterprise Team Effectiveness (eTE) quantifies the benefit of operational improvement by joining people, practices and systems to enable our clients to capture sustainable value through safe, reliable and profitable operations of their digitized facility

The role will entail continuously developing our focus on supporting clients on their strategic Operational Excellence initiatives through realignment of their organizational design, capabilities, and support systems to maximize and leverage new technologies and ways of working.

The focus of the position is supporting the eTE Group, managing and driving sales, project delivery, product innovation and standardization, and talent development within the eTE business line and greater business.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Business Development
    • Driving consulting sales for the eTE function to meet order intake targets for the eTE business line
    • Working with Marketing, drive the development of sales-ready messaging
    • Development, socialization, and implementation of sales tool kit items
    • Lead and support on-going sales activities through lead generation/qualification, client sales visits, client follow-up, and proposal development.
    • Monitor and maintain the pipeline of potential work
    • Develop marketing and sales strategies for assigned client accounts within client teams as assigned
    • Routinely assess existing client needs to identify business opportunities in conjunction with the eTE team and sales.
    • Develops proposals as needed according to the proposed work process
    • Relate project progress and arising opportunities to BD group for follow up
    • Communicate business needs to eTE Group Manager and Sales
  • Consultant
    • Developing client relationships
    • Managing client expectations
    • Communication (internal & external)
    • Collaboratively work with clients to assess organisational performance related issues and develop corrective action plans
    • Stay abreast of relevant industry trends and competitors that have the potential to impact the eTE group or our clientele
    • Provide expert guidance to clients in the area of improving organizational effectiveness.
    • Conduct workshops in assigned technical area(s) as required to meet business obligations
    • Responsible for / contribution to the preparation of reports for clients
    • Client presentations of work results
  • Project Management
    • Manage or monitor internal and external projects to ensure quality result (measured by client satisfaction) completion on-time and within budget (Hours/Cost)
    • Develop project plans that outline specific activities, required resources, and completion dates.
    • Coordinate internal project activities to ensure product quality
    • Work with appropriate personnel to address project related issues
    • Train and manage junior consultant and contractor performance to ensure that all project related activities are performed in accordance with the eTE group’s standards
    • Submit project reports to the consultant manager and the appropriate client representative.
    • In coordination with KBC accounts ensure project invoices are prepared and sent to client per milestone plan
    • Ensure that a qualified bank of associates are available
    • Monitor future award needs and communicate with eTE Group Manager and Sales
  • Team Leadership/Management
    • Support Project Managers
    • Mentor/train team members
    • Provide constructive feedback to team members
    • Build / maintain awareness of KBC's other product lines
    • Assign staff to projects
    • Improve and maintain the standards and abilities of the eTE staff
  • Research and Development
    • Support and participate in the efforts to redefine our enterprise team effectiveness offering to align with the market direction
    • Ensure local development activities are aligning and supporting the global Enterprise Team Effectiveness goals
    • Identify project derived knowledge that can be leveraged to support our long-term needs.
    • Support integration of KBC products and service with Yokogawa’s technology
    • Integrate technology tools into KBC’s consulting workstream
    • Expand KBC’s change management capabilities
    • Identify gaps in KBC’s current offerings and/or capabilities
  • Geographic Scope
    • The role is primarily focused within the APAC; but travel to and support for projects on a global basis is expected
    • The consultant is expected to proactively reach out within the KBC organization to ensure knowledge gained within the APAC is shared with global colleagues; and conversely ensure global lessons are applied within the APAC

Position Requirements:

  • Assessment Criteria
    • Have a proven track record in business development
    • Sustaining and developing existing accounts
    • Communication and Interpersonal skills
    • Playing a key part in new business development, from opportunity development, proposal input through to contract closure support
    • Ability to work well in team environment under supervision and willingness to assist others
    • Be cost conscious and aware of personal contribution to company profitability
    • Self-motivation and initiative
    • Awareness of the need for regular and proactive collaboration with colleagues and clients in all regions of the world
    • Development and maintenance of good relationships with employees
  • Desired Experience
    • 10 – 15 years of all-around experience in operations, maintenance, or technical interacting at all levels within the client organization from the C-Suite to the point of manufacturing
    • Excellent communication (writing/speaking/listening) and consulting skills, along with strong group presentation and facilitation skills
    • Good project management skills and with the ability to effectively manage time to ensure that multiple projects are progressing according to plan
    • Strong operational effectiveness / performance improvement experience
    • Willingness to spend approximately 50% of the time traveling and on client work sites; primarily within the APAC, but also globally
    • Fluency in an Asian language a plus
  • Education/Training Requirements
    • Business development training and experience
    • Project management certification and/or demonstrable experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field a plus
