Main Aspects of Job:

KBC is focused on growing outcome-based offerings to help customers in the process industries improve manufacturing business performance and manage operating risk. One aspect of KBC’s business growth is to harness emerging digital technologies including advanced analytics. Adoption of emerging technologies will deliver improved customer outcomes, reduce customer cost of ownership and reduce dependency on expertise both inside KBC and within customer organizations.

 

The role of analytics lead will be initially to flesh out KBCs analytics strategy, and lead R&D and Proof-of-concept investigations, over the medium term the focus will shift to productizing analytics solutions, embedding them into KBCs existing software, consulting and IIoT offerings, as well as creating and running new digital solutions.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer needs, use cases and KBC’s current approach to meeting those needs and available differentiators and strengths
  • Recognize the use of cases, market needs, and segments to address
  • Identify analytics technologies to enable those needs to be met more effectively, considering competitor activities
  • Prioritize existing and new KBC products and solutions to monetize analytics
  • Create and agree initial business and deployment plans, including make or buy decisions, and roadmap to strategically grow KBCs capabilities
  • Select, design and lead proof-of-concept (POC) deployment with customers, following existing stage-gate processes and working with 3rd party suppliers as needed
  • Evaluate effectiveness and expected business results and iterate on further POCs as needed
  • Facilitate transfer to software development or other commercial deployment within KBC
  • Educate KBC and build up
  • Promote the solutions both within KBC and our customers
  • Vision and ambition to create, develop and launch analytics solutions that build on KBCs strengths to meet customer needs
  • Use of digital technologies to enable effective manufacturing operation, across a range of business functions and disciplines
    • First Priority: Operations Process Optimization, Energy Management, Advanced and regulatory control, Reliability and Maintenance
    • Second Priority: Supply chain planning, operations scheduling,  operator effectiveness solutions, Process design

Position Requirements:

  • Strong Technical background in a range of analytics technologies, and application in the process industries
  • Experience in selection of analytics technologies for different application and deployment of analytics to solve real world problems
  • Knowledge in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, experience in statistical (structured) data analytics essential, experience in cognitive analytics preferred
  • Ability to utilize the use of a range of 3rd party analytics toolkits
  • Familiarity of new and emerging technologies and trends in the analytics space, and key 3rd party companies in the marketplace
  • Background in manufacturing operations in several process industry sectors (focused on energy and chemicals) and the use of digital technologies to enable effective manufacturing operation, across a range of business functions and disciplines
  • Understanding of segmentation, customer needs analysis, voice-of-the-customer and contextual inquiry methods
  • Knowledge in stage gate processes (Waterfall and Agile) for developing and launching new products and solutions
  • Capability in business planning of digital offering development
  • Background in analysis, prototyping and adoption of emerging digital technologies
  • Grounding in intellectual property protection
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to link technical concepts to business imperatives and communicate with senior executives to drive the analytics business
  • Capacity to educate, coach and develop others, acting as a key source of knowledge and expertise in analytics within KBC
  • Aptitude to listen to the customer and end user to determine needs, and sell KBCs solutions and offerings
  • Capability to engage in constructive two-way dialogue with stakeholders in technology product management and R&D, Consulting product management, Strategy and Marketing and other areas of KBC
  • Experience in working across diverse cultures in a global organization
